Here’s a list of prostate cancer advocacy and support groups plus nonprofit organizations that men (and women) in the U.S. can connect with, online or in-person.
Prostate Cancer Support Groups
Cancer Compass: This website features cancer news and articles, as well as discussion groups and message boards for all types of cancer, including prostate.
Daily Strength: In addition to hosting an online prostate cancer support group, you can also find information about treatment, testimonials and a variety of health blogs.
Imerman Angels: This unique nonprofit organization matches cancer patients with cancer survivors across all types of cancer for 1-on-1 support online, by phone or in-person.
Us TOO: Through this nonprofit organization, you can find a prostate cancer support group chapter near you for in-person meetings. You can also join its online community for prostate cancer patients here.
Prostate Cancer Nonprofits and Advocacy Groups
Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF): The PCF is the leading prostate cancer organization working to fund and accelerate research across the world. Its website features information and resources ranging from inspirational stories to prostate cancer statistics and more.
Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC): The PCEC is the founder and coordinator of the National Prostate Cancer Awareness Week Program (in September), which has provided free screenings for more than 5 million men across the U.S.
Prostate Health Education Network PHEN): This nonprofit organization provides a host of resources, assistance and events for African-American men and prostate cancer patients in the U.S.
National Alliance of State Prostate Cancer Coalitions (NASPCC): This is an umbrella organization that helps form advocacy groups and coalitions to support prostate cancer awareness, research and treatment in states across America.
ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer:This prostate cancer nonprofit organization hosts countless men’s health events across the U.S., and kicked off the largest series of health events for men last year through its ZERO Prostate Cancer Challenge.
Prostate Cancer Organizations for Women
A Prostate Cancer Forum for Ladies Only: An online forum that is exactly what it sounds like. Here, you can find online discussion groups and message boards for women whose lives have been touched by prostate cancer.
His Prostate Cancer: A website for the wives and partners of prostate cancer patients, His Prostate Cancer features a variety of resources and information for women, including Prostate Cancer 101, stories of hope, helpful books and more.
Women Against Prostate Cancer (WAPC): This nonprofit organization unites women affected by prostate cancer across the country while advocating for awareness, education, legislation and more.
